BRIDESHEAD REVISITED

The book club met at Anne's on Tuesday 15 November to review Brideshead and choose books for the next 6 months.

All were present except Francoise, ie, Sally, Jane, Lorraine, Caroline, Chris and me.  Discussion was wide ranging regarding Brideshead but the overriding thought was that catholicism played an enormous part in the book.  After much debate, we all decided to give Brideshead Revisited 4 stars.

The next book to read is "Where my Heart Used to Beat", Sebastien Faulks and the club will convene at Lorraine's on Thursday 15 December at 5pm.

After that, we are due to meet on Tuesday 17 January, 4pm at Chris's to discuss "Between the Woods and Water" by Patrick Leigh Fermer.

Sally has already sent an email outlining the next choices made for books up to July/August but I've listed below in case you haven't noted them.  As far as I'm aware we didn't actually set dates for the club to meet.

February 2017
The Little Red Chair - Edna O'Brien

March 2017
The Little Friend - Donna Tartt

April 2017
Being Mortal - Atul Gawande

May 2017
The Trouble with Sheep and Goats - Joanna Cannon

June 2017
The Thread - Victoria Hislop

July/Aug
City on Fire - Garth Risk Halberg
